The Head of Payments Sales will lead all new sales activities in the Payments & Platforms vertical, which owns Tink’s relationships with Merchants, Platforms, PSPs and Marketplaces. You will lead a team of 30-40 FTE across Europe.
Our Payments & Platforms vertical accounts for the majority of Tink’s expected growth and new signings and is therefore of pivotal importance to Tink's success - not only are we seeing dramatic increase in demand from customers, but payment companies are leading the innovation agenda across open banking. Tink has historical strength in onboarding products, but has a fast-growing payments and risk product set which are expected to power growth at Tink in the future. The two vertical teams at Tink operate as relatively independent businesses, with fully verticalised marketing, delivery, solution architecture, strategy and product teams. This role will form a key part of the vertical leadership team, as well as be expected to have a leadership team of its own.
Now backed by Visa, but remaining very much an independent entity with minimal integration, we have all the advantages of being a highly agile, nimble startup with the resources and investment of a global giant.

What we look for
As Head of Payments Sales, you will be responsible for leading a team of 30-40 FTE selling Payments, Onboarding and Risk open banking products to merchants, platforms, PSPs and marketplaces. You will play a significant leadership role across the wider Tink organization, and collaborate closely with your counterpart in the Banking & Lending vertical. You will be part of the extended management team of Tink.
As Head of Payments Sales, you will:
- Define the new sales strategy for the Payments & Platforms vertical (geographies and products)
- Lead your team in selling Tink’s product suite. The various teams are based in key hubs across Europe
- Collaborate extensively with the Tink management team and your counterparts in the Banking & Lending vertical
- Support our product leadership in clearly defining and framing customer problems and needs; you will play a key “input” role to our product development process and be expected to collaborate extensively with our product team
- Innovate together with key clients on new use cases and applications of open banking
- Drive C-level and key buyer relationships with the largest PSPs, fintechs and merchants
As Head of Payments Sales, you have:
- Extensive experience across the financial ecosystem, whether payments or other fintech experience (open banking experience is not essential, but desirable)
- Deep understanding and knowledge of merchant, PSP and partner payment problems and needs
- Demonstrable success in a highly entrepreneurial role before, where you have built teams and defined your own swimlane
- Extensive experience working in a fast-paced agile startup or scaleup environment
- A client-first attitude and the deep passion to be the client’s number one partner for innovation with open banking
- Proven leadership track record as senior leader, leading leaders, and an exceptional communicator and motivator of people
- Intuition, a lot of common sense, and a “can do” attitude
- Humility and a highly collaborative style, able to bring others with you in all things
- Smart work ethic, able to ruthlessly prioritize to manage your (and your team’s) time effectively.
- Fascination with all things payments and open banking, and a strong drive to improve things for the better
- Passions: whether inside work our outside work, we love people who have phenomenal ambition and persistence to achieve great things
- We are open to candidates without sales management experience who bring exceptional strategic and people management abilities
In this role you will join a quickly growing and highly ambitious payments team with experiences from Europe's leading fintechs and payment companies. You will strengthen our sales management and team leadership capabilities, and will report directly to the SVP Payments & Platforms. Your work will be of high visibility across Tink and you will have a direct impact on the success of Tink's key customers.
