We are seeking experienced Engineering Directors to lead and inspire cross-functional engineering teams and drive the delivery and quality of our products. You will be working closely with product management and leading a team of 3-7 engineering managers, contributing to our mission of delivering innovative and high-quality services to our customers.

We are looking to strengthen engineering leadership across our full tech organization and have opportunities in multiple areas with each requiring various characteristics. We are looking for candidates that have a proven track record of e.g.:

• Building a scalable high-volume platform and working with senior engineers

• Operational excellence and how to engage and optimize teams that are doing maintenance work

• Having deep knowledge and experience of how to run cloud infrastructure and developer tooling teams at scale

• Setting high expectations for your engineering managers, and having coached, grown, and mentored them toward reaching them

• Building a learning organization and continuously learning as a leader

Responsibilities

As the Engineering Director, your key responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring overall delivery and quality of the products your team builds

• Working closely with product management to build products in the best way possible

• Optimizing team efficiency and scalability

• Form an organization that encourages open-mindedness and continuous efforts to overcome challenges and improve

• Engaging teams and ensuring everyone moves in the same direction toward the same goal

• Be a champion for engineering excellence in your area, and keep growing engineers in your organization

• Mentor, grow, and coach your engineering managers to a state of constant learning and improvement

• Setting clear priorities and providing leadership in a fast-paced and innovative environment

• Being data-driven and always seeking new ways of improving your services

• Building strong relationships with stakeholders across the product, engineering, and commercial organizations

• Actively participate in the tech area leadership team, and both lead and assist initiatives in the group

• Recruitment and onboarding of new employees.

What we look for

We're looking for a talented and driven Engineering Director who can lead and inspire teams. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in management and leading cross-functional teams. We expect you to be able to set priorities and provide direction, build relationships with stakeholders, and support the growth and development of their team.

We like you to have:

• Several years in management roles, with experience leading other managers or in a similar role where “leading at scale” was required

• Solid experience working in an agile development environment

• Experience from working with customer-facing products where operational excellence and high uptime is a requirement

• Strong organizational and prioritization skills along with outstanding written and verbal communication skills

• Fluency in English
