We are seeking an experienced leader for an Area Lead & Engineering Director role within our Engineering Foundations. Engineering Foundation supports Tink’s ~300 software engineers with cloud infrastructure and developer tooling that allows them to do their job efficiently and reliably. You will be responsible for all employees in the area ~ 40 FTEs (both engineering & product), with 5-6 direct reports (Senior EMs & PMs, Staff engineers).

What you will do

As the Area Lead & Engineering Director, your key responsibilities will include:

• Setting the direction, strategy, and roadmap of the area, collaborating with teams and seeking input from other Tink Tech areas.
• Ensure overall delivery and quality of the products built by your team.
• Actively participate in the tech area leadership team, leading and assisting initiatives in the group.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the product, engineering, and commercial organizations.
• Set clear priorities and provide leadership in a fast-paced and innovative environment.
• Be data-driven and always seek new ways to improve your services.
• Foster an organization that encourages open-mindedness and continuous efforts to overcome challenges and improve.
• Engage teams and ensure everyone is moving in the same direction towards the same goal.
• Champion operational excellence in your area and grow the members of your organization.
• Optimize team efficiency and scalability.
• Mentor, grow, and coach your direct reports to a state of constant learning and improvement.
• Be responsible for the recruitment and onboarding of new employees.

What we look for

We're looking for a driven leader with proven experience who can lead and inspire teams. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in management and leading cross-functional teams. We expect you to be able to set priorities and provide direction, build relationships with stakeholders, and support the growth and development of their team.

We would like you to have:

• Several years in management roles, with experience leading other managers or in a similar role where “leading at scale” was required
• Solid experience working in an agile development environment, including familiarity with cloud technologies like AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Experience from working with products where operational excellence and high uptime is a requirement
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills along with outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Fluency in English
